The first weekend of summer is jammed packed with events at the club, so please take a moment to read carefully so you don’t miss out on anything!
Friday June 2nd
Our Galley will open under the management of Millie’s Kitchen. Millie and her staff will be doing the cooking at OHYC staring Friday. I have enclosed a menu for your review. Please stop by and try one of Millie’s delicious menu items. Millie’s will be open from noon to 10:30PM Monday thru Friday and will open at 8AM on Saturday and Sunday so that breakfast can be included in their already varied menu. See you at Millie’s at OHYC!!!!
The annual “slip pick” will commence at 10AM
The US Coast Guard will be conducting vessel safety checks at OHYC from 11AM to 2PM. This will be a training exercise for the CG and the inspection will be a “no jeopardy event” to the boater. What this means is if the inspector finds that your boat is not in compliance they will advise you as to what is needed to bring your vessel into compliance and return another day to issue your VSC sticker. A great way for you to insure that your boat is fully up to speed for the 2017 season. Also attached to this email is the list of items that the CG will be checking for when inspecting your boat.
US coast Guard AUX will be holding its “suddenly in command” class at noon in the members area. This class is designed to insure that your boating companion knows what to do in case you become incapacitated. A must for wives and girlfriends! The class will run about 3 hours and is offered at no charge.
I am very excited to announce that beginning June 2nd our galley will be operated by Millie’s Kitchen. Many of you , I’m sure, have enjoyed Millie’s food at her stand alone restaurant in Winthrop or at The Cottage Park Yacht Club. We will now be a part of these fine dinning venues. I have reviewed her menu and attached one for you to do the same. I think you will find the menu varied and very reasonably priced. From appetizers to full dinners, there should be something for everyone . Most of the restaurants ingredients are made from scratch, including soups and sauces. Millie’s will be open from 12 noon to 10:30PM Monday -Friday. They will also serve breakfast on Saturday and Sunday from 8AM to noon! All items will be available for take-out.
I hope to see you at the club trying out one of Millie’s dishes!
